F.A.Q.

Q: Who is Neptune's hand for?

A: The hand of Neptune addresses:

  - To boaters who do not practice rescue maneuvers.

  - To boaters who are not familiar with rescue maneuvers.

  - To boaters who leave with a reduced crew.

  - To boaters who venture into cold water.

Q: What types of craft is the hand of Neptune for?

A: The hand of Neptune addresses:

  - Boats built with a displacement hull. (sailboats / trawlers)

  - Boats moving at less than 10 knots.

  - Boats that are difficult to maneuver with a small crew.

  - Boats which require more than a minute to perform a rescue.

               (Typical boat: 28 - 55 foot sailboat)

Q: Where do we install it?

A: The hand of Neptune is installed on the same tube of the aft balcony as the conventional hook of the buoys. Diameter 7/8 to 1 inch / 22 mm to 25 mm.

Q: How does the hand of Neptune work?

A: Neptune's hand drops a buoy instantly when a fall is detected. All the crew has to do is point the boat into the wind to slow it down and then tow the floating cable which connects the buoy to the boat.

Q: How does Neptune's hand detect a fall?

A: The user must wear a small immersion sensor. This sensor sends an electromagnetic signal to Neptune's hand if it is submerged.

Q: In case of rain?

A: The sensor is designed to withstand splashing or light vertical rain. To avoid false triggering during a storm, the sensor should be placed inside a pressure sensing self-inflating jacket.

Q: Can I add sensors?

A: Yes, you can add up to 12 sensors per hand. Each sensor can be programmed on multiple hands.

Q: Can another boat trigger my system?

A: No, the sensors are encrypted with 13,000,000 possible combinations.

No, the signal range of a sensor is 100 meters .

Yes, there are still at people who win the lottery ....

Q: Who is Neptune's hand not for?

A: To regatta skippers.

  - To commercial navigators

Q: What types of craft does the hand of Neptune not address?

A: Commercial craft.

  - Racing boats.

  - Boats which navigate at more than 10 knots.

  - Boats that can perform a rescue in less than a minute

Q: What is the point if I already have a PFD?

A: The hand of Neptune does not replace the PFD. It is a complement which makes it possible to simplify the maneuvers for the remaining team members and to accelerate the recovery of the man overboard. The hand of Neptune, allows not to do U-turns and lose sight of the man overboard, avoids hitting the victim with the boat, avoids going too far from the victim and having to start over.
