THE HAND OF NEPTUNE

THE ORIGIN

After taking a boating training course in which we practiced recovering a man overboard with a full crew on a small sailboat, we soon realized that in reality there where several elements that could stretch the time and reduce the successful of maneuvers. Especially :

  • Stress (when it is no longer an exercise);

  • The small crew (usually two);

  • The slow boat maneuvered due to its size;

  • The complexity of the boat which is difficult to maneuver by one person;

  • The speed of human reantion;

  • The sharing of tasks (we do see you falling).

THE SOLUTION

Confronted by this reality, we set ourselves the objective of designing a device that would easily allow anyone to rescue a man overboard. On a small boat or a large sailboat, with a small crew or a crew separated by tasks, the device had to allow quick and easy rescues. He also had to react faster than a man to perform quicker rescues than conventional techniques with a full crew.

THE RESULTS

After several prototypes and several technical tests, The hand of NEPTUNE was able to demonstrate its potential by allowing apprentice boaters to carry out several sail rescues, on boats over 28 feet, in less than a minute. Some rescues were even carried out in less than 17 seconds.

THE CONCLUSION

Enjoy!

The Hand of NEPTUNE is currently the most complete of the upgrades which simplify and accelerate the recovery of a man overboard. The Hand of NEPTUNE must however in no case replace the wearing of a type certified personal flotation device. : Vest or PFD
